11. NOAH’S NAKEDNESS (9:18-29)

18 Noah’s sons who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.

19 These three were the sons of Noah and from these the whole earth branched out.

20 Now Noah, the farmer, was the first688 to plant a vineyard,

21 and drinking the wine, he became drunk, and exposed himself in the middle of his tent.

22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his brothers outside.

23 Shem and Japheth, however, took689 the garment and placed it on the shoulders of the two of them, and they went backward and covered the nakedness of their father, but their faces were turned, so that their father’s nakedness they did not see.
